WES51 & WESD51 by Weller
An analog soldering station, the WES51 by Weller, a division of Cooper Tools is a great value for the money. Weller’s WESD51 is the digital readout equivalent. The WES-51 is suitable for any hand soldering application you can think of. It is great for both new production applications in an industrial environment, rework and repair. It would make a great
iron for the serious hobbyist. The temperature is fully adjustable and lockable from 350F to 850F. The lock out is accomplished with a magnetic key.
The pencil has a has a comfort grip foam handle, ensuring maximum comfort. The cord from the pencil to the control unit is made of a non-burnable silicone rubber and is four feet long. The unit is fully ESD safe and the control unit will automatically shut off the iron after 99 minutes of inactivity. This increases safety in a production environment, helps extend tip life and saves power.
The built in temperature sensor is an integral part of the heating unit for the ultimate in temperature accuracy. This clever combination means that it can heat up faster and recover quicker ensuring you a more uniform temperature during your work. Designed from the ground u to be ESD safe it is perfect at any ESD workstation.
The lockout feature allows you to set a maximum temperature based on the work piece, component or board, whatever the heat-limited piece of your work might be. Set properly, it can help prevent you from mistakenly overheating those sensitive items.
The included pencil, the PES51 is fully compatible with industry standard Weller ET series tips. On the front of the control box is an LED that tells you what mode the unit is operating in. You can glance quickly at the LED to ascertain whether the unit is temperature locked or unlocked and whether it is on or off. Meeting the most rigorous of safety standards it is both UL and CUL listed.
The WESD51 Digital Soldering Stationis exactly the same as the WES51 Analog Soldering Station
except that it adds a digital temperature readout. Temperature control is the same for both at +/- 9F and the Stability is +/-10F for both. Both units employ the same 50W heater and technology: Nichrome wire insulated with fiberglass and ceramic.
This is an excellent choice for all of your soldering needs.
